Fishing on the Missouri River
Thousands of in state and out of state sportsmen travel to the Pierre area every year to experience some of the best Walleye fishing in South Dakota. Whether you head down the Missouri River or up on Lake Oahe, you can count on a memorable Missouri River experience and plenty of fish.
Lake Oahe is just North of Pierre 4- 5 miles and is one of the BEST fishing spots in the Midwest. It stretches for over 231 miles to Bismark ND. The Largest of the four Missouri River resevoirs, Lake Oahe is the "big water". This deep, clear lake - at it's maximum is 205 feet deep.
You will also see alot of on shore activities - sail boat, jet ski, campers, sunbathers, houseboats and water skiing are a daily sight in the summer months.
The Ramkota Hotel is located on the banks of the Missouri River and offers all the conviences:
- The RiverCentre Cafe opens daily at 6an serving breakfast, lunch and dinner
