Thousands of in state and out of state sportsmen travel to the Pierre area every year to experience some of the best Walleye Fishing in South Dakota. Whether you head down the Missouri River or up on Lake Oahe, you can count on a memorable Missouri River experience and plenty of fish.
Lake Oahe is just north of Pierre 4 - 5 miles and is one of the BEST fishing spots in the Midwest. It stretches for over 231 miles to Bismarck, ND. The largest of the four Missouri River reservoirs, Lake Oahe is called the "big water". This deep, clear lake at its maximum is 205 feet deep and is home to Walleye, Salmon, Bass, Northerns, catfish and pan fish.
You will also see alot of on shore activities - such as sailboats, jet skis, campers, sunbathers, swimmers, houseboats and water skiining are a daily sight in the summer months.
